The Resurrection Is Real

All mankind will be resurrected

The Grand resurrection will occur when Christ returns shortly

The resurrection is a central Bible Teaching

The doctrine of the immortal soul is a Babylonian teaching which undermines what Jesus taught

What happens when we die? Is that the end of life?

The Bible Is Clear That There Is a Hope for ALL The Dead

The very first book of the bible to be completed is the book of Job. It isn’t listed at the beginning of the Bible Canon as the books are not entirely chronological in their layout. However God knew that we would all want to know the answer to the question. What happens at death. So in this very first book to be written the question is both asked and answered.

If we die, can we live again?

Job 14:10 states ‘But a man dies and lies lifeless; a human being breathes his last, and where is he?’

This is the question we ask. Where are we?

Job 14:14,15 however explains the answer to the question.

Job 14:14,15. ‘If a man dies will he come to life? I will wait all the time I have to serve till my relief comes;  15 You will call and I will answer you; you will have a yearning for the work of your hands.’

Speaking to God Job states clearly that death is like compulsory service. Time that he knew that he must serve. But then he wrote that he would wait for God to call him. That God would call him and that he would answer.

You cannot answer if you are still lifeless.

Hence Job is explaining a simple truth.

Death is like sleep. We die and enter a lifeless state. But then God calls us back to life. We are reanimated. We can reply.

As a further guarantee of this truth Job said. [Moses wrote this account.] ‘You will have a yearning for the work of your hands.’ Yearning is a deep emotion. God is deeply attached to His creation.

Man will be resurrected.

Job Knew That In Due Time He Would Be Called Back To Life

Jesus later explained this truth further in his ministry. He likened death to sleep and spoke of awakening ones from death. In reference to going to raise Lazarus the bible says that Jesus substituted the word sleep for the word death so that initially the disciples concluded that Lazarus was recovering from his illness given that he was sleeping.

John 11:11-14  “Our friend Lazarus has gone to rest, but I am on my way to wake him up.” 12 So the disciples said to him “Sir, if he is getting rest he will recover.”  13 But Jesus had been speaking of his death; but they thought he was speaking of the rest of sleep. 14 So then Jesus said to them plainly “Lazarus is dead,  15 and I am glad on your account, so that you may believe, that I was not there; but let us go to him.”

The disciples understood the resurrection from the dead. They didn’t know how it would work but they did know that it was a definite promise from God.

John 11:23,24. Jesus said to her “Your brother shall rise.” 24 Martha said to him “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”

Martha knew that the resurrection was a clear bible teaching. Jesus revealed that just as he would resurrect Lazarus, so on his return in Kingdom power he would resurrect all in the memorial tombs back to life.

In John chapter 5 Jesus explains the matter of the resurrection clearly.

John 5: 25-29. “Truly I tell you that there is a moment coming, and it is here now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will come to life,  26 for as the Father has life in himself so he has given it to the Son to have life in himself;  27 and he has given him authority to administer judgment because he is Son of Man.  28 Do not wonder at this, because there is a moment coming at which all in the tombs will hear his voice  29 and pass out, those who have done what was good directly to resurrection of life, those who have misbehaved to resurrection of testing.”

Jesus plays a key role in the resurrection. However he explains that ALL those in the tomb will receive a resurrection. For some their resurrection will result in an immediate reward of life. The remainder must pass through a time of testing similar to that which occurs when Christ returns in Kingdom Power with the angels in glory. Doubtless in most cases they will choose to follow in the ways of the Christ and live in a loving way. But fairness dictates that all enjoy the opportunity to learn about the Christ and follow in the beautiful pattern of love.

Yes the hope for the dead is the resurrection

Who gets resurrected?

ALL those in the tomb.
